Energy Suspension 06-11 Honda Civic Si Gray Master Bushing Set
Energy Suspension's 16.18114
Improve Your Honda's Performance
Whether your Honda Civic Si is in bad shape, or you want to improve its performance, Energy Suspension's 16.18114 is what you're looking for. Including solid polyurethane sway bar bushings, control arm bushings, rack and pinion bushings, and shock mounts, the 16.18114 is guaranteed to not only restore but improve your Honda's responsiveness and performance. While taking corners you want your Civic to slice across that curve, smoothly turning to face down the next straightaway. But currently, your Honda is plagued with rattling sounds and leaning while taking even the smallest of turns. The 16.18114 has just what you need to make your Civic slice those turns.
Sway No More!
Sway bar bushings are made to tightly grip the sway bar and hold it in place while also connecting the sway bar to the frame. The OE rubber sway bar bushings are prone to stretching themselves out over time, leaving the sway bar loose to flop around aimlessly. When this happens the Honda leans farther when taking corners and rattles as the sway bar moves around. This rattling is the sound of the sway bar banging into other chassis parts. At DST we highly recommend getting this fixed before the damage becomes very costly. To keep things easier, the sway bar bushings included in Energy Suspension's 16.18114 also come in their separate kits; the front sway bar bushings come in the 16.5146, and the rear sway bar bushings are the 16.5147.
Connecting the Driver to the Vehicle
As the name implies, the control arm is designed to help the driver maintain control over the car. Connecting the steering knuckle and wheel assembly to the Honda's frame, the control arms help absorb impacts from driving over bumps and holes. The mounting positions between the control arms and the frame are made using rubber bushings with metal sleeves. Once again this rubber will eventually wear out after constantly stretching and relaxing, reducing your control arm's effectiveness. With Energy Suspension's Hyperflex polyurethane control arm bushings installed you will feel a dramatic increase to your Honda's responsiveness and handling. If you need to get your control arm bushings replaced now, but don't want to purchase an entire bushing set like this one, the control arm bushings also come as separate kits. Check out 16.3122 to get the front control arms and 16.3123 for the rear.
Crisp Steering
By now we've covered handling issues and obnoxious noises, two of the most common vehicle complaints we get at DST. Well, this next one is kind of a cross between throttle response problems and handling issues. There's a slight delay between you turning your steering wheel and those wheels shifting. The force you apply to the steering wheel is transferred through a component called the steering rack. This component is what controls when and how much your wheel assemblies turn. Over time the OE bushings wear away after repeated impacts from the rack. As they wear out the steering rack starts to shift more and more. Replacing the worn OE bushings with Energy Suspension's polyurethane will restore your Honda's handling response time, reducing the delay to almost nothing. This will help you react faster to changes in your driving environment, avoiding other drivers or obstacles in the road. If you need to find these rack and pinion bushings by themselves just search for 16.10105!
Shocking Coverage and Durability
Shocks are designed to reduce the bounce you experience after driving over a bump. But like every other part of your suspension, they never work alone. Both forming and protecting the connections between your shocks and the rest of your suspension are the shock mount bushings. Most stock applications use rubber bushings to protect your shocks. This rubber is good at reducing NVH but is prone to warping and wearing away over time. Energy's shock mount bushings are extremely resistant to both physical wear and contamination, these shock mounts are more than capable of handling the constantly shifting pressure and exposure to the elements. Energy backs the dependability of the entire 16.18114 kit with a two-year warranty handled in-house for our customers here at DST. If your OE shock mounts need to be replaced now, check out 16.8112 to get them as fast as possible!
